Female pop/folk along the lines of Christine Fellows. The subtly Americana-tinged arrangements on the opening track, 'Sad Story Over' are so lush and slick you'll wonder if Van Dyke Parks had a hand in the albums production. I found the album a little too commercial sounding - makes me think of contemporary television teen dramas - to let it work its way into my regular listening stream but that's just a matter of personal taste as Couture is clearly very talented although I think this would appeal more to girly girls than gruff guys like myself.
