From the album cover I did not expect the Secret to sound like they do at all. Maybe I should have, but I didn’t. I expected a much slower gothic sound. Maybe even Type O Negative like, but not really fast yelling, heavy intenseness. Yes this is metal, pure metal. At it’s finest.
Disnintoxicification is a very raw sounding record, doesn’t seem to have too much production in it, the songs just blast out at you without a lot of build up or intro. I can imagine it would be a pretty intense live experience. Might even hurt a bit, in fact it hurts a bit to listen to it. I think it might actually scare me. Actually I’m pretty sure it scares me.
These guys are fucking intense. I think some really bad things happened to them. Like maybe they were locked in cages without sunlight for weeks and weeks on end. Probably by Satan. Yeah that kind of intense.
Hey and would you look at that, apparently it was recorded in some remote region of Sweden 4 hours from the artic circle. Shit, that would be desolate. No wonder this sounds so evil. Does that mean a 4 hour walk though, because that would be kind of an awesome walk, I’d walk 4 hours to the artic circle just to do it. Maybe I’ll just do it anyway. The artic is awesome.
And yes this album totally sounds like a reaction to that. Pure extreme metal, blasting the face of humanity, inspiring dark evil things, thrashing and pounding just intense, yeah.
