Supposedly, Laromlab is a chip tunes maestro. This is what the CD booklet and the internet tells me, so who am I to disagree with the label, Especially since I have absolutely no idea what this means or how this is different from any other way of recording. Could be a revolutionary new form of making music, or just a new trend, it really doesn’t matter does it, all you really care about is… if this is any good. And I do believe this is a damn good album.

Basically it sounds like dance music made on a Commodore 64, which, supposedly, if you were obsessed with, you will understand chip tunes. And although I did indeed have a one them there computers I was more involved in rearing livestock.

Oh don’t get me wrong this was by no means my choice, who knows perhaps I would have been on the computer everyday, but there were sheep to feed. Since I was otherwise occupied I have no idea what any of this high falooting technological babel could possibly mean. Essentially I have no idea. So, to boil it all down to something resembling sense stew, if you love really cheesy video game sounding effects you will love this.

It’s total video game music. It’s like the soundtrack Pac man should have had, or Frogger, something like that. Lots of nice deep bass in it, along with blips and beeps. Pretty interesting really, even having never really been much of a video game player person though, did like Ghosts and Goblins, if that’s what it was called I remember I had that on my Commodore.

Well my brother did, he got hold of a whole bunch of games from this friend of his, but my memory is lousy so I think I remember that and Donkey Kong. But I do remember that ghosts one, or maybe it was goblins. Ghosts and Goblins? You had to throw knives and crap at things. Very descriptive, I know.

I think the only way I remember this was that when I was working telesales this guy found a way to get on the internet and he sued to play it all day and just sort of fumble through the calls, and not really try. I was awesome at telesales, but I quit after I made rent money, so I have no idea what happened to him.

Back to video games though, as I usually had to spend most of my time working, I can tell you all sorts of stuff about miserable winter nights dragging sheep through the muck. That I do know a lot about. But anyway, the point I was going to make was that, had I spend a lot of time playing these games I’m sure this would be an awesome nostalgia trip, and would make me feel like a kid., or something like one anyway. And this does sound like that sort of music if I remember it right. Okay? Okay.
