Compost albums are starting to bore me - every album's the same deal: the tightest fucking beats on the planet, the fattest basses this side of Bootsy Collins, the sickest, freshest synthesizer sounds and inevitably some incredibly sexy European babe with a goddess voice in accented English or else a cast of totally rad MCs flowing the dopest rhymes. If you don't believe me, listen to some of their recent releases like Muallem's Frankie Splits, or the killer compilation Freshly Composted for proof. And you know, Compost Black Label is just more of the same...

Kicking things off, Zwicker's "Made Up" is the track you want playing when you walk into the club - the kind of track that guarantees you've come to the right spot. Who the hell is this vocalist Olivera Stanimirov with the sexy I-don't-give-a-fuck attitude and luscious voice? She' s incredible! One of the best tracks my ears are gonna have the pleasure of hearing this year, no question.

The banging beats continue pretty much unabated - Syrup's "51 Cents Left", the four-on-the-floor beats of Flowerz' "All Tonight", Trickski's incredible "Hormony". It doesn't let up! Lopazz turn in a seriously driving track called "Child of Dance" that's driven by the most intense bass line you've ever heard. Tyree Cooper's "Close Life Off" may be the slickest track on the album with more four-on-the-floor beats and super smooth synths flying all over the place.

Things take a left turn on Keisuke Suzuki's "Water Samba", a mellow downtempo song with airy Rhodes sounds and Latin American-inspired beats. Phreek Plus One's "Boogie Beat" sounds sort of old-school with simple beats and a nice round bass line. True to their name, Brahmasonic introduce some Indian feel to the collection with "Kholi Number" which sports some nice tabla and sitar sounds to the mix - like Suzuki this is also quite mellow. Yet another brilliant collection of club and mellow tracks from a label that has been consistently releasing incredible stuff recently. Remember, CD people, the good shit on Compost Black Label was only available on vinyl up til now so props to the people at Compost for making it available and part of a continuing series! Recommended to get your party started!
