Hot on the heels of last year's
Breakupdown and January's killer album of remixes,
Bounceleremix, not to mention a tour with Lady Sovereign, Ghislain Poirier is back with yet another EP of his awesome productions and beats and a dope selection of Quebeçois and international MCs. Rebondir may be his strongest work yet.
Poirier's beats seem to grow dirtier, grimier, greasier and heavier with every release. Rebondir has a few instrumentals that perfectly showcase his trademark Bounce Le Gros style. But Poirier may well be at his best when crafting exquisite backing tracks for his Quebeçois rapper friends like Séba (who's did not join Ghislain on this outing and is missed) and the unstoppable party posse Omnikrom who have a few tracks here that get the party started and never let it stop
and also a nice track in English from Radionactive.
It's short - just a few tracks and a few remixes of those tracks, but it's quality over quantity: almost every track on here is solid gold and should go one step further towards putting both Quebecois rap and Ghislain Poirier on the international hip hop map. More, please!
