This compilation makes me dance around the apartment doing karate moves in my robe, like a bloated Las Vegas Elvis or a character from a blaxploitation film. That takes a lot which means this album is AWESOME. Even my curmudgeonly friend who only likes the Stones enjoyed this.

With more funky horns, sassy strings and wah-wah guitars than you can shake a stick at, A Tom Moulton Mix is like an early history of dance music, tracing Moulton's invention of the 12" single – in a victorious effort to keep people on the dancefloor – through disco remixes for artists like Eddie Kendricks, BT Express, Isaac Hayes, Grace Jones and many more over the span of two incredible CDs.

All these tracks still sizzle 30+ years later – all the electronic music technology and MIDI timing and fancy new-fangled beats don't detract an ounce of the passion and funk from these recordings. It feels like every track is hotter than the one before, that's how good these singles are.

Warning! This will make you dance your ass off. A Tom Moulton Mix is guaranteed to be the funnest, sexiest, danciest CD released this year. Highly recommended! DJs that aren't spinning this have got their head up their ass.
