Solid album of snotty ska-punk from Texas. Solid skanking guitars, nice horn unison lines, lots of spirited group vocal choruses, and great Farfisa organ.

The album starts out sounding hardcore but kicks into gear with a dapper punk guitar line before finally settling in to the super-catchy, high-energy skank of "Psshhh. Like in Handcuffed". The singer sounds like a snottishly cartoonish ska version of Ian MacKaye; it's not a bad thing, but it sounds funny when the band tries their hand at a ballad, which they do later in the album with "Done Gone".

The boys once again take the tempo down to a disturbingly sweet slow-dance for the intro of "Blistered Up" before once again kicking into hyper-fast mode. And then the best song on the album is "For The Kids", with a very catchy group chorus, great horn work and charmingly roguish drunk atonal background vocal.

The album winds its way to a close with the aforementioned ballad misstep and another anthemic blue-collar pep rally called Stand True.

My only complaint is that the lead guitar bits aren't very good and detract from the quality of the album and this song. They'd probably do well to focus more on the horns. Overall, good album and I'm guessing Captain Bringdown and the Buzzkillers are an awesome live band.
