This album is presented with two parts, two different projects of Josh Carrigan, one under the name of Cassette Concrète - A Tape Gone Leaves No Trace, and another under the name of Joshi, Animal Faith.

The first project is somewhat ambient and electronic, whereas the second was made entirely on a 4-track. All songs were recorded and performed by Josh Carrigan. As the title suggests, the first album, A Tape Gone Leaves No Trace, is made of prerecorded tape samples collected through time. There is some guitar strumming reminiscent of simple folk songs with interesting reverberations.

The experimental part of this album is related to noise and materials in use as well as layering of voices through technological means, tape splicing and audible tape manipulations. The instruments used - guitars, voices, harps, sound reverberations, and electronic media - contribute to the ambient, mellow mood of the first album. The songs are of a cyclical nature, which creates an almost hypnotic effect on the listener.

The second album, Animal Faith, is more upbeat, with more beats, and more lyrical content. The two projects are closely related because of the electronic manipulations, instrumentation, mood and content.

Overall the music on these two albums has an effect of drawing the listener in with its mellow soothing mood until you are quite close to really absorb the deeper content of each song.
