Real nice piece of country/root-rock reminiscent of Joel Plaskett, The Band, etc. I've had this in my CD player more than anything else since it came in the mail, which is always a good sign. Beau is a member of NYC band Cheyenne, but I get the feeling - who wouldn't - from the subject matter and the recording studio that he's an Okie - perhaps not from Muskogee, but an Okie nonetheless.

With songs like "Holy Tulsa Thunder", "Girl From Oklahoma" and "Tulsa Sound" he's doing his state proud, although I've got to point out that arguably the best song on the album is an ode not to Oklahoma but to California and specifically San Juan Capistrano. This is perhaps where the influence of The Band is felt most strongly. Really classic album for fans of roots rock. Definitely makes me want to check out Cheyenne, and I hope you'll do yourself a favor and check this one out.
