Loscil
Minimal electronic and ambient techno compositions by Vancouver's Scott Morgan, an array of glacial basslines, "crystalline clarity, and a slowly undulating, enveloping beauty." (Dave Stelfox XLR8R Nov. 2002) Loscil has released a series of albums on Kranky Records, following an earlier self-released demo, beginning with 'Triplepoint' in 2001. The 2002 album 'Submers' plumbed the ocean depths for inspiration (every track takes its name from a submarine), and included a eulogy to the victims of the Kursk tragedy.
