Plumerai formed in 2004, and they were immediately signed by Get Nice Records who released their self-titled debut. Several releases later they released the 2011 CD, "Your Guilty Prize", available as a limited (300) edition CD or digital download. Following the release of the CD, long time vocalist Elizabeth Ezell left for the west coast and shortly after drummer Ben Dicke who replaced Todd Richards in 2009 also departed. Plumerai - Res Cognitans

by
Plumerai’s latest release may only be a small four-track EP but to the band itself it marks big changes. Two years after their first release, Plumerai are much more defined and sturdy, having solidified their line up to four members and, perhaps most importantly, gained more artistic control over their production. All of which has given Plumerai an altogether more dynamic sound which is clearly evidential on Res Cognitans. “Avernal” opens the EP and is a delightfully dreamy creation, the d...

Plumerai - Without Number

by
With their early EP release in 2006, Boston-based Plumerai had driven up quite the excitement due to a unique blend of PJ Harvey Style vocals from the husky voiced Elizabeth Ezell and The Cure style shoegaze/ dark wave accompanying music from band Martin and James Newman and Todd Richards. A creation that promised more than the length of the EP could handle. At long last Without Number is upon us, Plumerai’s latest release and thankfully still full of the charm, if not more ...

A short and sweet release from Plumerai but not one to miss if a fan of the New England Dream Pop group. A 7-inch split single pressed in clear vinyl is an aesthetically pleasing notion on its own but mixed with the tranquil and humble ‘Vacant Eyes’ encompasses a release that uses to its advantage both groups small and eclectic fan base. The Blue Kite’s contribution is that of ‘We Can Never Be Friends’, an endearing if slightly too twee for my ...

Plumerai - Electrical Mess

by
Plumerai have been releasing a steady amount of albums & Ep’s for a few years now and yet still I wonder how they haven’t been picked up by a major label (having been on Silber and now released through their own label, Darushka-4) Either way once again Plumerai prove themselves worthy of recognition beyond their current dosage with Electrical Mess an EP including new tracks, remixes and some live tracks too. Electrical Mess starts with the track of the same name, showing off both th...

Plumerai - Your Guilty Prize

by
Hotly anticipated by fans previously earned from releases ‘Res Cogitans’ and ‘Without Number’, Boston four-piece Plumerai strike another effective post rock result with ‘Your Guilty Pleasure’, their latest on Silber Records. Reintroducing listeners to Elizabeth Ezell’s sultry vocals, ‘Strike’ brims with delicate brooding and tight guitar & drum composition, highlighting the level of development and competence the production levels of the band have reached. Jaunty and melodic, ‘Spinn...
